President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an expanded meeting of the government on Saturday following the results of his working trips to Mary and Lebap regions, during which he got acquainted with the situation on the ground, including the progress of the grain harvest, and took part in the opening of new facilities.
The meeting was held in the conference hall of the Turkmenabat International Airport.
The Head of State gave tasks to the deputy prime ministers on the socio-economic development of the regions, improving the living conditions of the population and creating new jobs, forming new industrial sectors with a focus on import substitution, providing support to agricultural producers and using the opportunities of the private sector.
They also discussed the effective use of land for the cultivation of crops and pastures, the development of breeding and seed-growing work, the improvement of land reclamation methods and the introduction of advanced water-saving technologies.
Touching upon social issues, the President demanded to increase attention to timely and full provision of educational institutions on the periphery with everything necessary and organization of summer holidays for children, preparation for the new academic year, promotion of progressive teaching practices, including digital resources.
The Head of State called for the introduction of the best world experience in the agro-industrial complex and the training of its specialists, to conduct active cooperation in this area with developed countries.
