Kazakhstan intends to stop exporting its gas and start buying blue fuel from neighboring countries, including Turkmenistan, Kazakh media wrote.

The reason for the revision of the national energy policy is the increased demand for natural gas within the country, Kazakh Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov told reporters.

First of all, blue fuel will need to be delivered to the northern regions of the country, therefore, purchases of Russian gas are also expected, the head of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan said.
