On Wednesday, the final meetings of presidential candidates from the initiative groups of citizens with the electorate from the capital took place in the Mekan Palace of the Ashgabat City Hall.

The director of the Financial and Economic Secondary Vocational School of the Lebap region, Perhat Begendzhov, presented his election program to the people of Ashgabat.

Answering voters' questions, Begenjov dwelled in detail on the issues of further development of the basic segments of the national economy, including the oil and gas and energy industries, chemical and light industries.

On the same day, a meeting with the electorate from Ashgabat was held by the director of the Research and Production Center "Renewable Energy Sources" of the State Energy Institute Kakageldi Sariyev.

As president, he promised to continue working on the adoption of laws that would be aimed at improving the living standards of the country's citizens, and would strengthen peace and the foundations of democracy.

In total, within the framework of the election campaign, 9 contenders for the post of President of Turkmenistan from political parties and initiative groups of citizens held 55 meetings with voters, the CEC reports.

Elections in Turkmenistan are scheduled for Saturday, March 12. 2.54% of voters in Turkmenistan and 28.6% abroad have already voted early.
