In January-February, China imported about 5 million tons of natural gas from Central Asia

In the period from January to February 2022, China imported 4.67 million tons of natural gas from Central Asia, the specialized media of the People's Republic of China write, citing data from the customs authorities.
The blue fuel flowing through three branches of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline currently provides the needs of residents of more than 20 provinces and autonomous regions of China. More than 500 million citizens of the country use environmentally friendly natural gas.
In 2021, China increased the supply of blue fuel from Central Asia by 12% compared to 2020. Imports amounted to about 31.733 million tons of natural gas.
Every year, China's consumption of blue fuel is increasing due to Beijing's policy of switching from coal to cleaner forms of energy. Thanks to this, China is the world's largest buyer of natural gas, and, according to experts, will continue to strengthen this position.
Turkmenistan, Russia and Kazakhstan remain the main exporters of pipeline gas to China. The leaders in LNG supplies are Australia, the USA and Qatar.
