Turkmenistan will supply over 4 million cubic meters of gas per day under an agreement with Iran and Azerbaijan
With the onset of 2022, Turkmenistan began swap supplies of natural gas under the agreement concluded with Iran and Azerbaijan, media sources of Iran report, citing Iranian Oil Minister Javad Ouji.
About 4-4.5 million cubic meters of natural gas is supplied from Turkmenistan daily to Iran, the minister said. Within a year, about 1.5-2 billion cubic meters of Turkmen natural gas should be supplied to Azerbaijan through the territory of Iran.
An indefinite trilateral agreement on swap supplies of Turkmen blue fuel was signed in Ashgabat on November 28. The contract was a new step towards strengthening the energy security of the region and expanding cooperation between neighboring countries.
At the same time, Turkmenistan is gradually increasing the supply of blue fuel to Russia and China, diversifying the export of hydrocarbons and realizing the colossal potential of the country's fuel and energy complex.
Speaking about the prospects for the development of the fuel and energy complex during his visit to the Malay field in the Lebap region on January 4, President Berdymukhamedov noted three main tasks of the complex - the industrialization of the industry, ensuring domestic needs and increasing exports.
