On October 17, delegations to the seventh China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum arrived in China, Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the PRC.
The participants were representatives of various sectors of the economy from Turkmenistan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and ASEAN countries.
The guests were greeted by the chairman of the All-China Women’s Federation, the chairman of the China SCO Committee on Neighborhood Shen Yueyue.
On the first day of the program, the forum participants familiarized themselves with the main attractions of the city, such as the picturesque mountains near Qingxi, the joint innovation center of smart cities China-ASEAN, as well as the exhibition hall, which will host an exhibition of exhibits from invited countries.
As happens at large events of this kind, in Nanning there were some incidents and moments that the ORIENT reporter would not miss. So, for example, when exhibiting started, samples of Tajik products were at the stand of Azerbaijan. In the photo, representatives of delegations just put things in order at their stands.
The participants of the exhibition also “laughed”. The famous Armenian cognac was poured into the glass wands of “traffic cops”. And the wine products of Georgia were represented by the “leader of all peoples”.
Exhibitors were pleased to get to know each other, studying the exhibited products and finding common features in jewelry, ceramics, and painting.
Also participating in the event were Turkmen volunteers – students studying in China. They helped the guests of the forum, and also talked about the national customs and traditions of the Turkmen people..
At the end of the day, several meetings were held between the Chinese leaders and the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Altynay Omurbekova and others.
The forum aims to identify unique geographical advantages in the development of cooperation between Central Asia and ASEAN countries.
The 7th China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum opens on October 18th.
