Just having returned from Brest, where a grand concert took place a week ago with the participation of creative teams of the CIS countries, the symphony orchestra conducted by Rasul Klychev is preparing two New Year’s music programmes at once.
On the evening of December 26, the pre-holiday concert of the symphony orchestra will be held at the Mukam Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan with the participation of opera singers amazing soprano Leyli Okdirova and excellent tenor Nury Nuriyev.
– In a duet with Leyli we will perform works from the repertoire of Sarah Brightman and Alessandro Safina. For a solo performance, I am preparing a snatch of the Granada aria by Mexican composer Agustin Lara, Nury Nuriyev shares the details of the upcoming concert. – It should be noted that interest in opera has recently grown significantly in Turkmenistan. There were many significant vocal performances in the ongoing year. These include the arrival of French soprano singer Magali Léger, with whom I was lucky to appear on the same stage, and the performance given by Turkish opera singers on the stage in Ashgabat. But one of the most striking events for the public and for artists was the joint Turkmen-Italian production of the opera Pagliacci by Ruggiero Leoncovallo, produced by Italian Director Daniel De Plano.
The symphony orchestra conducted by Rasul Klychev constantly tries to meet the public interest in classical music. Therefore, the classical compositions that are well known from the films about Christmas and the New Year’s Holiday will be included in the programme of the future concert. Leroy Anderson’s Christmas Festival, music from the movie Home Alone composed by John Williams, fragments from the ballets by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Johann Strauss.
– I somehow quickly moved from childhood to adulthood and I don’t even remember if I ever thought about the existence of Santa Claus. But on the eve of a magic holiday everyone always wants to believe in miracles. I believe and hope that next year will be as creatively fruitful and eventful as the outgoing 2019 and we will give our fans a lot of fun and new positive emotions, conductor Rasul Klychev says.
Next Saturday, on December 28, fans of the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan will have another surprise. This is the fabulous musical programme The Nutcracker based on the famous ballet by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The New Year’s fairytale will begin at 18:00 in the Cultural Center of the Oil and Gas Complex.
– Two years ago we organized a similar concert, Rasul Klychev says. – And this time, the audience also has a lot of interesting ahead: the actors will read lines from the work of the same name by Ernst Hoffmann, dance groups will perform, and the original animation will be shown on the big screen throughout the program. There are enough ideas; the main thing is to bring them to life.
