In Turkmenbashi the 4th meeting of Ministers of Transport of Caspian littoral countries took place.
The parties discussed cooperation in the Caspian sea and also shared proposals on intensification of further interaction.
It is impossible to overestimate the significance of the Caspian sea for our states, after all, it should become «the oasis of peace and true good neighbourhood». The major role in this process is played by transport interaction of our countries, – the deputy minister of transport of the Russian Federation Alexey Semyonov told.
Thereupon, the huge role in transportation of cargoes between the Caspian countries belongs to railway transportation. The Russian official suggested expanding the geography of container transportation, to improve the system of railway-ferries across the Caspian Sea, to develop the special tariff conditions stimulating development of rail transportation of cargoes.
He also drew the attention to new directions of cooperation in the transport sphere – to realisation of multimodal transportation and also introduction of intellectual technologies in transport processes.
Development of these directions will allow us to enter a new level in management of transport streams in the Caspian Sea and create possibilities for reduction of terms of delivery of cargoes, – Alexey Konstantinovich told.
The deputy minister of transport of the Russian Federation suggested holding a meeting of experts under the draft agreement on cooperation in the field of sea transport in the Caspian sea at the end of September in St.-Petersburg. He also supported the proposal of the Turkmen side on preparation of the five-sided cooperation agreement in the sphere of search and rescue ion the Caspian sea.
Necessity of creation of effective system of interaction in search and rescue in the Caspian sea ripened for a long time and the developed agreement will create for this purpose a necessary international legal basis, – Semyonov noted.
And in Iran a special staff of logistical centres of the country which represents itself as a link connecting trade and transport was established.
