Meeting of the Turkmen-Austrian Society will be dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality

On January 10, a regular meeting of the Turkmen-Austrian Society will be held in Vienna. On the meeting agenda is a discussion of the programme of events for the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality.

The meeting will also discuss the projects and events of the past 2019, the key of which was the meeting of President Berdimuhamedov with Dr. Neda Berger, the Society Head, Honorary Advisor to ORIENT, and the format they agreed on expanding bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Austria.

Among other events is the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Galkynysh Turkmen-Austrian Symphony Orchestra, during which the 4th Vienna Ball and an anniversary concert of a music group were held in Ashgabat in October last year.

The directors of large European companies were invited to the meeting: Sigmapharm Arzneimittel GmbH, DiproMed GmbH, BS Global GmbH, GESSCON GmbH, TECHCON GmbH, Gebrüder Weiss GmbH East plus, Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH, Kapsch TrafficCom AG, BertschLaska Produktions-und Handels GmbH and Waagner Biro, interested in continuing fruitful cooperation with Turkmenistan and further implementing joint projects.

All these firms have been actively working with Turkmen partners in various sectors of the economy for many years. The plans are to expand the areas of partnership and deepen cooperation at all levels. As Oswald Hutter, Regional Sales Director of Waagner biro “Bridge systems”, highlighted in an interview with ORIENT, the company’s job is to interconnect markets. And Turkmenistan, as a convenient transport hub of the continent, is a promising partner and customer.

Members of the Turkmen-Austrian Society will also discuss the possibility of holding the 5th Vienna Ball in Ashgabat as part of the International Conference on December 11-12, 2020, and the participation in the concert of Bulgarian mezzo-soprano opera singer Vesselina Katsarova, the performance of the Galkynysh Orchestra in Vienna and the holding of Turkmenistan’s Culture Days in Austria, the work of the joint Turkmen-Austrian Commission, expansion of membership in the Society and other issues.
