LNG production in Turkmenistan has grown by 12%

The production of liquefied gas is increasing in the Turkmen fuel and energy complex. In the first half of 2020 it showed a 12.2% growth as compared to the same period in 2019. The country’s leading LNG producer is the Turkmenbashy Complex of Oil Refineries.

According to statistics, the plans are also fulfilled in all other sectors of the oil and gas industry, although in some cases the indicators are several percentage points lower than in the last year’s similar period, which is associated with deterioration in the price situation on the world market.

From January to June 2020, the amount of oil production with gas condensate totaled more than 4.8 million tons, including over 1.9 million tons of crude oil, according to the State Concern Turkmennebit. During the period under review the production amounted to 879 thousand tons of gasoline of various grades and 904 thousand tons of diesel fuel.

The natural and associated gas production in the first half of the year amounted to 33.9 billion cubic meters. Over 16.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas were exported during this period.

The country benefited 2.5 billion dollars from exports of petroleum products and natural gas in January-May.
