Kazakhstan plans to open 14 new air lines

Currently, Kazakhstan has communications with 26 countries in 99 directions. Last year, 12 flights were opened. This year, it is planned to open 14 new air routes. This was stated by Vice-Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Berik Kamaliev at the expanded Department Board, Kazakh mass media reported.

According to him, Kazakhstan will open communications in such directions as Paris, Doha, Maskad, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, etc. The Vice-Minister noted that in 2019, the dynamics of the main indicators in the civil aviation sector shows stable growth. The transit flow has reached 1 million passengers.

“More than 8 million passengers were transported, which is 9% more than in 2018. In addition, more than 18 million passengers were served. The transit flow of passengers has reached 1 million,” said Berik Kamaliev. He added that they continue the work on reducing the cost of air tickets.

“Last year, the cost of air tickets for domestic airlines was reduced by 12% on average. We continue this work,” emphasized Mr. Kamaliev. The introduction of a low-cost carrier in May 2019 was one of the main measures to reduce the cost.

The Vice-Minister told which airlines are planned to enter into cooperation with in the near future, “We expect such companies as Qatar Airways, Emirates, Air Asia, Israel, Salam Air, Jazeera Airways, LOT.”

Berik Kamaliev informed that within 5 years it is planned to build 13 airdromes in six regions of the country.
