Speaking at the Summit of the Heads of States’ Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the necessity to find new growth points that would give a new impetus to economic cooperation within the Commonwealth.
According to the Kazakh leader, it is important to join efforts in the field of digital technologies. In this regard, he proposed to hold special CIS forums on modern technologies on a regular basis.
In addition, the President of Kazakhstan has proposed to consider the introduction of a single regime under the code name “Visa of the Commonwealth” similar to the Schengen visa. Such an approach would enable to increase the tourist flows many times.
“Each CIS country has its own unique recreational, natural and historical sites. They can supplement the list of the world’s most attractive tourist destinations,” Tokayev said.
Such directions as the development of e-Commerce and free trade in services within the CIS are among promising areas for joint work.
“All proposals are imposed by the desire to increase the interaction efficiency under present-day conditions,” the President of Kazakhstan said.
