Iranian weightlifter Sohrab Moradi became the absolute world champion in the category of 96 kg

At 19:20 Ashgabat time in the Olympic town of the Turkmen capital, the 2018 World Cup competition among men in the weight category of 96 kg was completed.

Iran’s Sohrab Moradi became the leader in the snatch and the world record holder (186 kg). The Iranian raised the record twice, but the first attempt, to the disappointment of the fans, was not counted.

The second in the snatch with the result of 181 kg was the Chinese Tao Tian. The third place and junior record in snatch (180 kg) is with the Belarusian Evgeny Tsygantsov.

In the push, Sohrab Moradi again became the first – the absolute world champion and world record holder (push – 230 kg, biathlon – 416 kg unattainable).

The second place after a long and hard struggle went to the Chinese Tao Tian (226 kg).

The third in the push was a junior from Qatar, Fares Ibrahim Elbach, who raised a record 217 kg.

The sum of the biathlon “gold” is with Sohrab Moradi (Iran) with a score of 416 kg. “Silver” went to Tao Tian (China), who raised a total of 407 kg. Bronze and third place overall went to the representative of Romania Nicola Onica – 391 kg.

The fourth place and two junior records (180 kg spurt and 390 kg biathlon) came from an athlete from Belarus Yevgeny Tsygantsov.
