The border with Iran and Turkmenistan will be reopened from June 10 under strict monitoring of health protocols, Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Gholamabbas Arbab Khales
told official IRNA news agency.
“The rail and road borders between Iran and Turkmenistan had previously arranged to be reopened on June 1. However, the date was suspended to June 10 due to the need for disinfection operations next week at the border posts to prevent the novel coronavirus infection,” ambassador asserted.
According to him, during a video conference meeting among joint technical working group, which was attended by representatives of the transport departments of the two countries, health, agriculture, foreign affairs and customs services of Iran and Turkmenistan, the decision was made.
