A humanitarian cargo from Turkmenistan was solemnly met in the Afghan provinces of Faryab and Jauzdan.
As ORIENT reported previously, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ordered to deliver a new consignment of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, instructing the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, jointly with the Ministry of Textiles and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, to compose the humanitarian convoy, and the country’s Foreign Ministry to organize its delivery.
Today, large vehicles loaded with pharmaceuticals, foodstuffs, textiles and other household goods arrived at their destinations in the bordering Turkmenistan provinces of Faryab and Jauzdan.
This is another step within the framework of a special program on Afghanistan adopted by Turkmenistan in February this year , aimed at providing systematic support to its southern neighbor. The friendly gesture is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.
The current cargo consists of adult and children’s clothing, including winter jackets and other warm clothes, blankets, personal protective equipment for medical personnel, disinfectants, antibiotics, masks, etc.
In August 2020, Turkmenistan sent to Afghanistan medical equipment to combat the coronavirus pandemic – devices for PCR diagnostics.
