The meeting of the Foreign Ministers within the framework of Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process ninth conference will be held on March 29-30. According to TASS, this was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan following the meeting of the ambassadors of the countries participating in the regional initiative.
The ministry informed that the Tajik ambassador in Kabul “announced Tajikistan’s readiness to hold a meeting of senior experts and Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process 9th Conference of Foreign Ministers on March 29-30, 2021 in Dushanbe”.
The Foreign Ministry added that the Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, Mirwais Nab, thanked the Tajik government for co-chairing this process, as well as for supporting Afghanistan. The meeting participants discussed the project documents for this meeting – the Dushanbe Declaration, as well as documents related to the empowerment of women and the prevention of natural disasters.
Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process is a regional initiative of Afghanistan and Turkey, launched in 2011. This format is a platform for political dialogue and regional cooperation to promote stability, peace and prosperity in Afghanistan and the region as a whole. The participants of the Istanbul process are Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates.
