Goods turnover between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan grows

Goods turnover between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan for nine months of 2019 has reached 97 million dollars, informs the Kazakhstan news agency LS. By its data, import to Kazakhstan for January-September, 2019 has grown from Turkmenistan by 2,3 times. The greatest share is occupied with vegetables, including tomatoes and onions. Kazakhstan also buys bed-clothes, polyethylene and lubricant oils from Turkmenistan, and delivers flour, industrial equipment, products from ferrous metals and barium sulphate.

In April, 2018 in Astana Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan signed a contract on strategic cooperation. Two neighbouring countries designated presence of considerable potential for increase of interaction in the trade and economic, transport-communication and power energy spheres.

Ashkhabad and Nur-sultan regularly discuss partnership issues in the gas sphere and development of trans boundary mineral deposits.

Let’s remind that Kazakhstan is involved in the large-scale project on delivery of Central Asian gas to China. CNPC buys Turkmen fuel since 2009 and it is transported through territories of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

In December, 2014 movement on the transnational trunk-railway Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran which connected itself transport systems of the Gulf States and Europe, started.
