Foreign citizens on the eve of the International Day of Neutrality were awarded the order and medals

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree according to which a number of foreign citizens were honored with state awards for “services to strengthening the independence, sovereignty and legal status of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, consolidating authority of the Motherland on the world stage and developing international relations, as well as on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality”.

In particular, the “Bitaraplyk” (“Neutrality”) Order was awarded to Natalya Drozd, the Ashgabat Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Center Head.

The Jubilee “Medal Türkmenistanyn Bitaraplygynyn 25yllygyn” (“On the 25th anniversary of the neutrality of Turkmenistan”) was awarded to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan Alexander Blokhin, cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko, Cultural Attache of the Apostolic Nunciature in Turkmenistan Andrzej Madej, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, member of the Japanese Parliament member Shinzo Abe, CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev, head of the Global Green Growth Institute Ban Ki-moon and others.
