Deputy Minister of the Organization for Cultural Heritage, Crafts and Tourism Mohammad Hossein Talebian and Ambassador of Greece in Iran Dimitri Alexandrakis held on Monday a meet.
«For last 6 years more than 3400 historical and cultural artefacts have been returned to Iran », Talebian told.
«Iran is one of the most successful countries in in restoring of both historical both cultural artefacts and Iran’s measures have caused the international market to be unsafe for smuggling and selling historical cultural property», he continued.
«Since Iran, like Greece, has encountered looting, theft, and smuggling of historical property over the past two centuries, we hope to be able to provide the grounds for the return of looted treasures by the joint actions”, the deputy minister added.
The ambassador of Greece, in turn, underlined that the cultural heritage, tourism and crafts in the modern world are important tools of assistance to the peace. He also expressed interest of the country in use of the Iranian experience in returning cultural and historical values.
