Four construction and installation departments of the Lebap region and one more – Mary region of Turkmenistan will be put up at auction for the sale of state property. The list of places was published in the local press by the Ministry of Finance and economy.
These institutions play an important role in implementing infrastructure projects in their regions. They are part of production associations that are currently being disbanded due to the development of market relations.
In the practice of the CIS countries, privatized construction and installation departments can either retain their former names, or be rebranded, turning into large construction companies. But the essence of their activity remains unchanged – the provision of construction and installation services.
In early November, President Berdimuhamedov instructed the government to review the procedure for privatizing state-owned facilities and speed up the transfer of enterprises to private hands that demonstrate insufficient economic performance.
Gulshat Mammedova, the Chairman of the Turkmen Parliament, was recommended to improve the Law of Turkmenistan “On privatization”, and Vice Prime Minister Shamuhammet Durdylyev, who is in charge of industry and construction – to develop proposals for the modernization or privatization of subordinate facilities.
Construction and installation departments of the Lebap and Mary regions will be put up for auction on November 27 in the building of the Ministry of Finance and Economy. Both citizens of Turkmenistan and foreign countries can participate in the auction.
