The 1st Caspian Economic Forum contributed to the implementation of many ideas and became the impetus for the intensification of work on projects of global importance. One of the significant results was the establishment of the Caspian Sea Institute.
At the last government session, Murad Atajanov, who previously held a post of Chairman of the State Enterprise for the Caspian Sea under the President of Turkmenistan, was appointed as the Director of the Institute.
The Caspian Sea Institute will develop cooperation in the region and review Turkmenistan’s implementation of international treaties on the Caspian Sea issues. Among other tasks of the center are marine scientific research, preparation of international legal and national documents, as well as specialized methodological information.
