The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will hold a seminar in Ashgabat to raise funds from the Green Climate Fund, and implement the FAO Technical Cooperation Programme in Turkmenistan. This was stated by FAO Sub-Regional Coordinator for Central Asia Viorel Gutu at the previously held International Conference “Turkmenistan and International Organizations: Cooperation for Peace and Development”.

An agreement for the implementation of this project was signed by the parties during the 1st Caspian Economic Forum, which was held in Turkmenbashy last summer.

Last year, Turkmenistan actively collaborated with FAO in projects in the field of food security and providing a varied and healthy diet, and in 2018, Ashgabat successfully hosted the first meeting of the Regional Platform for Nutrition Capacity Building and Partnership.

– Turkmenistan is a dynamically developing country, and it can act as a partner for many FAO initiatives and projects, Viorel Gutu emphasized.

In this regard, he spoke about the possibility of opening an organization’s representative office in Turkmenistan to ensure closer and more effective cooperation.
