An exhibition timed to the Independence Day of Turkmenistan has opened at the CIS headquarters in Minsk on Friday. The exposition was prepared with the assistance of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Belarus and the Presidential Library of the Republic of Belarus.
Nazarguly Shagulyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States, delivered a welcoming speech.
During the opening remarks of the exhibition, First Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Viktor Guminsky addressed, on behalf of the Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergei Lebedev and on his own behalf, congratulated the people of Turkmenistan on the state holiday, wishing peace, well-being and prosperity. Andrei Grozov, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the statutory and other bodies of the CIS, also joined the congratulations.
The exposition features books, albums, photographs that share the rich history and original culture of the Turkmen people, the picturesque nature of the country and architectural monuments. Significant part of the exposition is dedicated to the works of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, including those translated into Belarusian. In addition, the prose and lyrics of contemporary Turkmen authors are presented.
In addition, the exposition involves a slide show on achievements of the Turkmen people during the period of independence and on sights of the country.
