Economic issues of the CIS discussed in Moscow

According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, a meeting of the Commission on Economic Issues under the Economic Council of CIS was held in Moscow on May 22. The meeting was attended by representatives of the sectoral cooperation bodies of the CIS, ministries and departments of the Commonwealth states, senior officials of the CIS Executive Committee. The meeting was moderated by Serdar Durdiyev, Counselor of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation.

At the meeting, the participants discussed a number of projects, including the Radio Navigation Development Plan for the CIS member states for 2019–2024, the Action Plan for the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation on the Prevention and Elimination of Foci of Diseases and Forest Pests in the Border Areas of the CIS member states; the implementation of the Concept on Interregional and Cross-Border Cooperation of the CIS member states for the period up to 2020 and the Plan of measures for its implementation. In addition, issues related to health care, informatization of states, training, occupational retraining and advanced training of personnel in the field of electric power industry in the Commonwealth space, etc. were considered.

The materials on most of the issues were submitted by the Commission for consideration at the meeting of the Economic Council of CIS, which is scheduled to be held in September 2019 in Ashgabat.
