EASA conducted an audit of Ashgabat Airport, recognizing it to be the exemplary one

Experts of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) conducted an audit at Ashgabat International Airport. Today during working meeting in the format of videoconferencing, Chairman of the “Turkmenhovyollary” Agency (Turkmen airlines) Dovran Saburov reported on the results of the audit to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

He said that the EASA mission after verification procedures recognized Ashgabat airport as exemplary in every respect. At the same time, it was noted that it has good reserves to increase capacity and freight traffic volume. EASA specialists also got acquainted with the activities on ensuring the safety of flights, carrying out by Turkmen airlines and gave a good assessment of this work, as well as the development of the ground infrastructure of civil aviation of the country overall.

Mr. Saburov also informed the President about cooperation with the International Civil Aviation Organization – ICAO, including in the field of aviation security, and the use of technological innovations.

Mr. Berdimuhamedov gave the assignment to establish flight connection with cities of the EU countries, identifying the areas in demand, and prepare an action plan in this regard.
