Head of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov stated that because of epidemic COVID-19 Russia is not ready to accept yet foreign students as the situation cardinally differs from September. As RIA Novosti news agency informs on it.
The minister at the meeting of the Council of the Russian Union of Rectors paid special attention to foreign students.
«Colleagues from a number of the countries, including from the CIS countries, certainly, would like to arrive, but or the traffic is closed, or for a number of other reasons of there is no possibility. You see the situation in our cities and large universities, already and we are not ready to accept (foreign students – edit.). The situation cardinally differs what we had with you in the beginning of September», – he told.
Also Falkov stated that ahead are the examinations and it is necessary to be guided by its distant variant.
«Ahead are the examinations if the situation changes to the best it will be always possible to correct the order and to make a corresponding decision. Today we focus also on students, and you, certainly, on the session basically in a distant format», – he told at the meeting of the council of the Russian Union of Rectors, speaking about foreign students.
In September the ORIENT, referring to TASS, informed that the issue on returning of foreign students, including students from Turkmenistan, trained in the Russian Federation, is planned to solve within a month. However since then the situation with coronavirus has completely changed.
