The first representative of Turkmenistan, who became the mixed martial arts Champion of the ACB (Absolute Championship Berkut) and ACA (Absolute Championship Akhmat) tournaments, has left without a contract. Yagshimuradov told it in an interview with the MMATIK channel.
“I was ready to fight the last fight under the contract (against Muslim Magomedov – note by ORIENT), but I could not get a visa to the Russian Federation or anywhere else due to the coronavirus pandemic. Then, I and the league’s management came to a decision that they allow me act independently,” commented the Turkmen fighter.
On his Instagram page, Yagshimuradov wrote a letter dedicated to his departure from the ACA.
“I want to express my deep gratitude to the ACA league. At the beginning of my journey, the league gave me great and boundless support as a fighter, as a person, providing all the conditions, both material and mental, for my development.
Sometimes, desire alone is not enough, but the goals, approach, motivation that the promotion is working on did not leave us indifferent. And we, from fight to fight, had the opportunity to attract attention.
Here, I became the Champion in my weight. But now I go further, but not alone – with the experience and with the component that I acquired in the ACA,” Dovletjan shared.
Having become a free agent, the Turkmen fighter decides where he will continue his career. At the moment, Yagshimuradov is at the training camp in the UAE, where today, on October 24, the UFC 254 tournament will take place on Fight Island.
In the largest fight, the Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov will meet with the American Justin Gage; the Russian TV channel REN TV will broadcast the UFC 254 fight.
