Today, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to Turkmenistan Andreas Zenonos presented his credentials to the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Gulshat Mammedova.
The diplomat expressed his readiness to contribute to the development of relations between the two countries. Economy, science and education, as well as tourism were pointed out as priority areas for cooperation between Cyprus and Turkmenistan. The Ambassador suggested holding high-level meetings on regular basis and various events with the participation of entrepreneurs to support the private sector.
“Turkmenistan has enormous experience in the energy sector, which we could learn,” Mr. Zenonos said, having noted that it is a natural resource-rich country.
According to the Ambassador, Turkmenistan would be an example in the pursuing a policy of permanent neutrality.
“Cyprus supports the neutrality of Turkmenistan,” the envoy emphasized.
