Composer from Turkmenistan performs at the Turkic Music Festival in Kazakhstan

Turkmen composer, pianist, Meritorious Artist of Turkmenistan Rovshen Nepesov took part in the International Festival of Traditional Turkic Music, which was held in Atyrau, Kazakhstan.

“Altai-Atyrau Arasy” Festival in the homeland of the Kazakh folk musician Kurmangazy also gathered talented composers from Azerbaijan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

The composer and conductor from Turkmenistan, along with the Kazakh National Orchestra, performed the Suite for String Orchestra “Skretso”.

“It is a first time I conduct the Kazakh National Orchestra. I can say that the audience enthusiastically welcomed our performance,” the musician shared his impressions. “I wish we have more such festivals where the music of the Turkic peoples will be performed.”

“Talented, renowned composers, who participate in all international music festivals, have gathered today in Atyrau. We have many plans ahead. A music festival in South Korea is awaiting us. A festival of contemporary music of Turkic peoples will be held in Bashkortostan,” Secretary General of TURKSOY Duisen Kasseinov said.

“Being one nation, we, as fate would have it, live in different states. But thoughts and goals remain the same, and this festival confirms this,” head of Atyrau region Nurlan Nogayev added, noting that such events would give new impetus to the development of relations between countries in the field of culture and art.

“Altai-Atyrau Arasy” Festival that united Turkic composers would become traditional in the future.
