Chinese Ambassador to Turkmenistan: Looking at China through Keywords

(2nd issue. 1st issue is here)

In the crash of firecrackers, the old year has gone, and the smell of spring is carried by the warm wind. This year, on February 12, the Spring Festival was celebrated – the New Year according to the Chinese Lunar calendar. During the celebration of the New Year and the farewell of the old year, when Chinese families were reunited, batches of COVID-19 vaccines produced by Chinese companies were sent to all corners of the world, responding to the glowing aspirations of the peoples of many countries, which brought hope to humanity in the fight against the epidemic.

At the historical moment of the beginning of the 14th five-year plan and moving towards the goal of the second century, the Communist Party of China considers the solution of rural, peasant and agricultural issues as one of the most important priorities of the party’s work, strengthens and develops the achievements of the fight against poverty, comprehensively promotes the rise of the village and accelerates the modernization of agriculture.

Keyword 1: Spring Festival

The Spring Festival is the most important and solemn traditional holiday in China, which concentrates all the best of the culture of Chinese civilization. Wherever they are, the Chinese always try to celebrate this holiday in a family circle.

During the holiday, the Chinese enjoy a New Year’s dinner, make dumplings, give red envelopes (with money), watch a New Year’s TV Gala concert, etc.

Within approximately 40 days before and after the Spring Festival, China observes billions of passenger journeys by road, rail, water and air. This is called “Chunyun” (the tourist season of the Spring Festival). Chunyun is the largest seasonal population migration in the history of mankind. The astronomical number of trips reflects the longing of the Chinese for their family and the hope for a happy life. This year, in order to prevent infection with the epidemic, most people held a holiday at the locations, which contributed to the state’s fight against the epidemic.

2021 is the year of the bull in the lunar calendar. In Chinese culture, the bull symbolizes industriousness, self-sacrifice, strength and forward-looking. On the occasion of the successful completion of the 13th five-year plan and the beginning of the 14th five-year plan, being on the rise, the Chinese people, starting a new great approach, not allowing the slightest hint of carelessness and laziness, and stopping at nothing, will celebrate the centenary of the CPC formation with remarkable success.

Keyword 2: Vaccine

The COVID-19 epidemic poses a grave threat and challenge to the entire world, to the safety and health of humanity. While ensuring the prevention and control of the epidemic, the Chinese side is committed to creating a Common Destiny for Humanity and the Human Health Community, bringing faith, help and hope to the fight against coronavirus worldwide.

During the 73rd session of the World Health Assembly, Chinese President Xi Jinping made a serious promise that the Chinese coronavirus vaccines developed in the future will be available to the whole world after mass production, and thus serve as a worthy contribution of China to ensuring the availability of vaccination in developing countries.

As a responsible empire, China keeps its word. The Chinese side has already decided to provide the COVID-19 Vaccination Program (COVAX) with 10 million doses of vaccines to meet the urgent needs of developing countries. As of early February 2021, China has already provided free vaccine assistance to 53 developing countries, and has exported and is exporting vaccines to 22 countries.

Currently, 8 heads of foreign states and governments have already been vaccinated with Chinese vaccines. This is a vote of confidence in Chinese vaccines. The virus knows no borders, no country is guaranteed against the threat of an epidemic, and the crisis can be overcome only on the basis of solidarity and common efforts.

The Chinese side will continue to implement its promise on the availability of vaccines, promote cooperation in this direction, promote the fair distribution and use of vaccines, and assist the international community in overcoming the epidemic in the shortest possible time.

Key word 3: The Village, Peasants and Agriculture

The nation revival is carried out only on the basis of the rise of the village. Agriculture is the foundation of a country, and the country is stable only when the foundation is strong. The issues of the village, peasants and agriculture were, are and will be fundamental issues concerning the national economy and the welfare of the people.

China, being a major agricultural country, steadily guards the red line of 1.8 billion mu (120 million hectares) of arable land. Grain production in China has exceeded 650 million tons for 6 consecutive years, self-sufficiency in rice and wheat has steadily exceeded 100%, self-sufficiency in corn has exceeded 95%, which effectively meets the growing needs of the population and ensures the country’s food security.

After the 18th CPC Congress in 2012, almost 100 million rural low-income people were lifted out of poverty and misery after an eight-year struggle, according to the current criteria in China, which was a miracle in the history of mankind in the fight against poverty. Recently, at a meeting of the CPC Central Committee on Rural Affairs, the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Xi Jinping, highlighted the need to consider the solution of rural, peasant and agricultural issues as one of the most important priorities of the party’s work, to strengthen the high-quality and effective development of agriculture, to create comfortable conditions for living and working in rural areas, and to raise the level of income of peasants. During the period of the 14th five-year plan, China will continue to follow the course of priority development of agriculture and rural areas, fully ensure the country’s food security, promote the rise of rural areas with even greater efforts, accelerate its modernization, guarantee the successful start of the 14th five-year plan, and lay a strong foundation for a new approach to the comprehensive construction of a modernized socialist state.
