China is interested in increasing purchases of natural gas. And one of the key suppliers may be Turkmenistan. Liu Chaoquan, deputy head of the Institute for Oil and Gas Economics at CNPC, announced this at the 10th Gas Congress of Turkmenistan:
– Turkmenistan is a reliable partner of China and annually supplies about 52 billion cubic meters of natural gas to the market.
Today, gas demand in China is growing – in 2019 it increased by more than 10%. The main consumption comes from cities – heating and household needs of citizens account for about 40% of the total imported and produced gas.
