China cracks down on 100 apps for illegal collection of personal data

On the campaign started by the Chinese authorities to combat applications which without the permission collect and use the personal data as Silkroadnews agency writes.

«Started by the Cyberspace Administration of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China and State Administration for Market Regulation of the People’s Republic of China, a joint campaign is aimed at illegal actions of the applications which download the personal data without permission», – as is marked in the report.

The special working group has processed more than 12 thousand proposals from users of network and has checked up more than 2300 applications last year. In total 260 applications with the big base of users and appreciable problems have been published, have received warnings or have been removed from shops of applications , the Cyberspace Administration informs. The department has also informed that actions for correction of position in this year will be expanded to include in the sphere of attention SDK and mini applications.
