By the outcomes of the first month of 2019, the growth rate of the Gross Domestic Product of Turkmenistan was 6.2 percent.
As it was noted at the government session held today, in January, the growth in the industrial sector was 4.2 percent, in transport-and-communications sector – 10 percent, in trade – 10.7 percent, in agriculture – 3.1 percent, and in services – 8.2 percent. Retail turnover has increased by 19 percent.
By the outcomes of the first month, the new Ministry of Industry and Communications demonstrated good results, as it fulfilled plans on provision of services and production by 111.4 percent. At the same time, the growth rate was 115.4 percent.
Indicators of the oil and gas industry, basic sector of the economy, indicate positive start in 2019 also. The plan for oil and gas condensate production was executed by 103.2 percent, natural and associated gas by 107.9 percent, processing of hydrocarbon resources by 113.3 percent, production of gasoline by 101.3 percent, diesel fuel by 108.8 percent, and liquefied gas by 110.6 percent.
