Briefing on the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality took place in Tbilisi

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held a briefing on the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality.

The briefing was attended by representatives of local media such as the TV-24, the Publishing Group Georgian Business Consulting Group, the News Agency News Day Georgia, the Newspapers Resonance, Multinational Georgia, Free Georgia and other agencies.

In his address, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Dovletmurat Muratov hihlighted that the legal status of neutrality is the highest manifestation of the peace-loving traditions of the Turkmen people and, of course, is considered a phenomenon in the system of international law.

Neutrality is seen by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as a mechanism for combining geopolitical interests, an important factor in ensuring regional stability and establishing a civilizational dialogue on a constructive basis.

The briefing participants were also informed that 2020 will pass in Turkmenistan under the sign of neutrality, when large and widely represented events will be organized on the international level. And the first of these was the forum “Turkmenistan and International Organizations: Cooperation for Peace and Development”, held in Ashgabat on January 14, with the participation of President Berdimuhamedov.
