Berkarar ferry marks the fifth anniversary of its first voyage to Azerbaijan

Five years have passed since the first voyage of the Berkarar ferry ship to the opposite coast of the Caspian sea.

During this time, the Turkmen ferry between the international port of Turkmenbashi and Azerbaijan transported about 22,000 units of various types of transport equipment (TIR) and tens of thousands of passengers, the news agency ABC.az reports with reference to the Baku commercial sea port.

The RO-PAX maneuverable fast ship Berkarar, built by order of Turkmenistan at the Croatian shipyard Uljanik, has expanded the possibilities of cargo transportation not only between the two Caspian neighbors, but also facilitates cargo flows from Europe to Central Asia, the Middle and Far East.

The Berkarar ferry, which can take on board up to 2,400 tons and 54 heavy vehicles (TIR), is equipped with high-quality equipment that fully meets modern requirements for navigation and environmental safety.
