On October 25, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will pay a working visit to Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan to take participation in the 18th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement participating countries.
The Non-Aligned Movement, established in 1961, unites 120 countries around the world on the principles of non-participation in military-political blocs and consolidation of efforts to ensure universal security and wellbeing. The foreign policy of Turkmenistan and its neutral status are based on the same principles. Turkmenistan has been a member of this organization since 1995.
Azerbaijan holds the chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement in 2019-2022.
