In Turkmenabad, International rally Amul – Hazar 2018, in which participate 83 crews – more than 150 racers from 21 countries, has started.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has opened a prologue by making a 9-kilometer qualifying race at the sports car under the number 100.
After that, during question-and-answer session, the Turkmen leader answered the journalists’ questions. One of the important accents that the president made in his interview was the ecological aspect of Amul – Hazar 2018 project. According to Berdimuhamedov, the rally race would serve to draw public attention to environmental issues, including climate change.
Let us recall that according to the decree of the President of Turkmenistan, Turkmenbashi Refinery Complex is prescribed to provide free of charge the participants of the rally with domestic diesel fuel of EKO-5 (Euro-5) to 200 tons.
The use of this fuel over the rally route will allow participants to see the historical, cultural and nature sights of the Turkmen land, and assure that the fragile eco-system of the Karakum Desert in affected minimally.
