In order to intensify cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed to his colleague Moon Zhe In to hold the Turkmen-Korean Forum of Culture and Arts in Ashgabat in 2020.
The countries annually hold festivals and scientific conferences, thematic exhibitions and exchanges of creative teams that demonstrate the mutual interest of the peoples of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea to the culture, art and traditions of each other.
There is a department at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, where there are specialists in the field of Korean language and literature. In the development of this direction, it was decided to open the Center for the Study of the Korean Language and Culture of the King Sedjong Foundation on the basis of this university. This Institute was established in 2007 and has since become the largest Korean educational organization with 131 schools in 54 countries.
