President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Konstantin Chuychenko and State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin, TDH state news agency reports.
The guests extended the warm greetings to the Turkmen leader, as well as congratulations on the Great Patriotic War Victory Day from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, the report says.
During the meeting, the strategic nature of the Turkmen-Russian partnership was emphasized, the possibilities of its development were discussed, as well as the agenda of the next meeting of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, for which a representative delegation from Russia arrived in Ashgabat was considered.
The trade and economic sphere, fuel and energy complex, industry, agro-industrial complex, and transport were specified as priority vectors of cooperation. The relevance of the upcoming 1st Caspian Economic Forum in Avaza to be held in August, where Russia will be represented by a high-level delegation, was underlined.
The head of the Russian delegation emphasized the fact of careful attitude to the Russian language in Turkmenistan as the language of interethnic communication.
There are wide opportunities for expanding cooperation in the fields of sports, healthcare and tourism, TDH informs.
