Ayaz Baba is in the ranking of winter wizards of the CIS countries

The main fairy-tale characters at the New Year’s Day in Turkmenistan – Ayaz Baba (Santa Claus) and his granddaughter Garpamyk (Snow Maiden) were among the top ten winter wizards of the CIS countries.

This list also includes Ayaz Ata from Kazakhstan, Mine Baba – Azerbaijan, Kahand Papa – Armenia, Korbobo – Uzbekistan, Mosh Krachun – Moldova, Ayaz Ata from Kyrgyzstan, Boboi Barfi from Tajikistan and Tovlis Papa from Georgia.

The popularity rating of Santa Clauses of the CIS countries among tourists was compiled by turstst.com. The first place was taken by the New Year wizard from Belarus, belta.by reports.

The remaining Santa Clauses are arranged in this order: Moldavian, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Turkmen, Georgian and Ukrainian.

The Belarusian Santa is called Zyuzya and he lives in the Brest region in Belovezhskaya Pushcha. The estate occupies almost 15 hectares. In addition to the house of Santa Claus, there is the Snow Maiden’s tower, the Magic Mill, the clearing of the Twelve months and the alley of signs on the eastern calendar. About 150 thousand people visit the residence in Belovezhskaya Pushcha annually.
