Astrakhan region expands cooperation with Turkmenistan

JSC Special Economic Zone “Lotus” of the Astrakhan region became one of the participants of the Caspian exhibition of the innovative technologies, opened in the Turkmenbashi port.

The Caspian Sea is the pearl of Turkmenistan, and the Astrakhan region is a region of Russia, which is also located on the Caspian Sea, – said the General Director of the company Sergey Milushkin. Our main task as neighbors is to develop a joint economy. Currently, our company is launching a project for the installation of integrated irrigation systems in Turkmenistan, which will help to increase the yield and agricultural expansion of the country into new world markets.

In the project framework it is planned the production of drip irrigation tubes, the use of which accommodates water saving.

The Turkmen company from the Akhal region has already shown interest in this technology, which it will use for the production of vegetable products, – the guest shared the news.

According to him, a geo-synthetics plant is also planned to open in autumn. They are used in the construction of highway transportation facilities and railroad communications and provide reinforcement of roads and coverage, protection from soil erosion. The company is also developing an investment project for transshipment of vegetable oils in the port of Turkmenbashi.

We will be the largest oil transshipment base in Turkmenistan. The terminal, built in Turkmenbashi will help to accept oil, refine it and then forward it in transit to Afghanistan, – commented Sergey Milushkin.
