On May 12-13, the delegation of Turkmenistan will go on for a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran. This information was voiced today at a government session, reports the information program “Vatan” of the Turkmen State Television and Radio Committee.
During the visit, the delegation will hold a number of meetings in various ministries of Iran, where issues of bilateral cooperation will be discussed.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan is working to implement the agreements previously reached by the countries, including the outcomes of the visit of the Iranian leader to Turkmenistan in this March.
During the talks, the presidents Berdimuhamedov and Rouhani outlined promising areas for cooperation, including the processing of hydrocarbons and different possible joint projects related to the Caspian including at the recently launched International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi. The diversification of trade and economic cooperation was another important topic of the talks.
As ORIENT previously reported , the Turkmen delegation will visit IRI to discuss the resumption of the operation of the second power transmission line from Turkmenistan to Iran, as well as the construction of the third power line with the capacity of 500 kW.
These issues, as well as the creation of the Turkmen-Iranian Water and Energy Committee, were already considered at the meeting of the energy ministers of the two countries, and are likely to be continued during the forthcoming visit of the Turkmen delegation to Iran.
