Ashgabat and Seoul will use 5G to respond to Industry 4.0

Ashgabat and Seoul want, through the transfer of the world’s first South Korean experience in the commercialization of 5G mobile communications, to successfully respond to questions arising from the fourth industrial revolution and continue to take advantage of the opportunity for inclusive innovation growth.

This is stated in the Joint Statement of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea, signed in Ashgabat by Presidents Berdimuhamedov and Moon.

The document notes that in this regard, the parties reaffirmed the importance of the gradual expansion of cooperation in the field of science and technology and information and communication technologies through policy, personnel exchange and inter-agency cooperation.

Readiness to cooperate with Turkmenistan in the field of high technologies, President Moon Jae-in stated at the briefing for journalists on the results of the talks.

According to him, recently in Korea, for the first time in the world, the commercialization of 5-G technologies took place. “We have strengths in information and communications. On the basis of the concluded Memorandum of Understanding on ICT, I hope that Korea will take part in expanding the digital infrastructure of Turkmenistan” , the Korean leader said.
