On November 15, the opening ceremony of personal exhibition of the painter Berdy Chariyev was held at the gallery of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan. The exposition hall featured more than a hundred works, including landscapes, still lifes, portraits, etc.
The graphic sheets were of visitors’ special attention. They are painted in a free, fluent style, while can be worked out in detail.
The retrospective exposition allows following the stages of the formation of the artist’s style, the formation of his handwriting and creative credo. It could be noticed, for example, that the work painted in the 90s is smaller and more dynamic, “faster”, as the artist was in a hurry to capture a fast-moving life in his paintings. Later works are more complicated from the technical and subjective point of view.
In 2017, the artist participated in the creative competition under the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and he was awarded second place for the triptych “Inspired by Force”. It depicts two athletes during the fighting. They are focused at each other and far away from anything outside the ring.
In addition, the landscape works of the artist, which glorify the beauty of the nature of native Turkmenistan, are showcased at the exhibition. Each picture has something that can draw the visitor’s attention, or share with him the warmth and kindness. After all, art is a form of communication as well.
