Amendments to international sambo rules adopted

The Executive Committee of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS) approved the amendments to the international rules of this martial art, submitted by the Technical Commission.

In particular, the rules for the drawing of lots and the actions of judges in case of bleeding in athletes during a fight have changed. The participants of the meeting of the Executive Committee, held in remote mode, considered the issue of changing the qualification degrees of athletes and sambo trainers. This means that beginners, masters of sports, masters of sports and coaches will have the appropriate insignia.

The members of the council also approved the report of the Medical and Anti-Doping Commission for 2019, which contained detailed information on implemented anti-doping programs, the results of doping tests, as well as data on medical examination of athletes. The commission was replenished with a delegate from Asia – Dr. Paolo Alan Tabar from the Philippines, who was elected by a majority of votes.
