On Friday, October 2, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Portugal Shohrat Jumayev (residing in Paris) presented his credentials to President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
The ambassador conveyed greetings and best wishes on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and confirmed the readiness and openness of his country for development of relations with Portugal.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa also expressed warm greetings and best wishes to the Leader and the people of Turkmenistan, noting that Portugal is very interested in development of political, trade, economic and humanitarian relations with this Central Asian country.
Jumayev assured the Portuguese President that he would take all the necessary steps to establish closer relations between the two countries.
Shohrat Jumayev, the AEP of Turkmenistan to France, was appointed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as the country’s plenipotentiary to Portugal at the end of December 2019.
