Ahal is the first of the regions of Turkmenistan to “digitize” the government system

Ahal became the first region in Turkmenistan to introduce electronic document management and other information systems into the public administration system. This was discussed today at a working meeting of President Berdimuhamedov with the heads of regional administrations.

The transition of government agencies to electronic documentation is one of the practical steps in implementing the Concept for the Development of a Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025, which is aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of all sectors of the national economy.

The introduction of an electronic document management system in the regions will increase the efficiency of interaction between industry departments, help make operational decisions at the etrap level, and also monitor the implementation of various state and regional programs.

In the agricultural sector, digital systems are already being actively introduced to minimize human labor. Thus, the Concept of transferring velayat associations to the telematic digital system of agricultural machinery was approved. It will be implemented in three stages from 2019 to 2022 and will contribute to increasing the profitability of the country’s agro-industrial complex. In particular, this will increase crop yields, timely plan all field work and simplify the supply chain of products from the field to the consumer.

In the near future, electronic document management in the public administration system will be introduced in other regions of Turkmenistan. In this regard, it is also important to mention the launch of the Unified portal of public services and functions, which simplifies the procedures for providing public services to residents by single window principle.
