The Russian Airline Aeroflot announced the forced cancellation of regular flights to Bishkek until August 31, the airline’s website reports.
Earlier, in response to a request from Kyrgyzstan to “open the air traffic” in Russia, they replied that due to the emerging epidemiological situation, they would consider the issue of resuming flights in stages. Previously, Aeroflot regularly delivered Kyrgyz citizens by charter flights to the republic and flew back with the Russians on board.
The resumption of international air services in view of the pandemic is currently the most difficult restoration effort. As a rule, the opening of land, sea and air borders, the resumption of international transportation services, results in an outbreak of the coronavirus disease, and consequently, the re-introduction of restrictive measures.
In this regard, in order to prevent the import of COVID-19 into the country, Turkmenistan has extended the cancellation of all international flights until August 31 this year.
