The Research Institute of Earthquake Engineering Seismic, part of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan, will have a new building.
Today, during the digital video government session, Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov presented a project.
In addition, he informed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov about the implementation of the Program on the Reduction of Seismic Risks in Seismically Dangerous Areas of Turkmenistan. The Research Institute of Earthquake Engineering Seismic along with the Institute of Seismology and Atmospheric Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan in collaboration with international organizations and foreign specialized agencies that cooperate under the special projects with the participation of famous scientists and experts, are involved in its implementation.
One of these projects, supported by UNDP, is aimed at strengthening the national potential of Turkmenistan for seismic risk assessment, prevention and response to potential earthquakes.
Much attention in these projects is paid not only to the system of analysis and forecasting of seismic risks, but also to increasing the seismic literacy of the population as the key to earthquake safety, as well as preparation and response to emergency situations in general.
