From July 7 to July 16 in New York a high level political forum on sustainable development will be held. It is held annually with a view of advancement of the agenda of the United Nations in the field of sustainable development for the period till 2030.
For the first time work of the Forum with participation of delegates of all member states of the United Nations, and also representatives of civil societies will be held virtually. It is necessary to note that amidst the on-going pandemic COVID-19 this year the Forum has a big importance than ever. Thereupon discussions will be based on the second report of the Secretary General of the United Nations in which the basic attention is given to SDGs achievement in the conditions of the pandemic.
Within 10 days participants will consider progress in achievement of the SDGs, discuss ways of the solution of major global issues such, as climate change, peace and security maintenance, poverty reduction, access to steady energy and others. The countries will present the updated voluntary national reviews (VNRs) on realisation of 17 goals of sustainable development.
Also within the Forum from July 14 to July 16 there will pass a three-day ministerial meeting.
Turkmenistan has presented the first Voluntary national review on SDGs last year. And now the country is ready to share its personal experience in achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
